Frontier Airlines has launched a GDS-only bundled-fare product for business travelers.
The BizFare bundle includes a carry-on bag, priority boarding, an extra-legroom seat at the front of the aircraft, free cancellation and free changes (customers pay the difference if the new fare is higher).
The bundle also offers free same-day standby and free same-day confirmed flight changes when a change is made at the airport.
Frontier Miles loyalty program members will receive accelerated point accrual with a BizFare purchase.
"Our new BizFare is perfect for companies looking to improve their bottom line and save money on business travel," CEO Barry Biffle. "In addition, we believe our new network design will provide more destination options as well as additional frequencies on our most popular routes."
BizFare is the first bundled-fare product tailored for business customers that Frontier has introduced since shifting to an ultralow-cost model in 2014.
The move coincides with Frontier's new network adjustment away from oversaturated vacation-focused routes and toward major airline hub routes that are often flown for business. The majority of the 52 new routes Frontier recently announced for launch this spring will connect large cities or connect an airline hub to a midsized city that is not a typically a leisure destination.
The fares are now live in GDSs for domestic continental U.S. routes with booking codes C and J.
With the launch of BizFare, Frontier said it has set up a sales team to support the needs of corporate travel managers. However, the carrier, which no longer offers customer support via phone for its customers -- provided few specifics on how it will support travel managers, though the focus will be digital.
"We will work to enhance our digital experiences to streamline the process with a focus on self-service options," Frontier said in an email.
